Project Description
The Runway Office – A Creative IT Hub at Muscat Airport
The Runway Office is a 400-square-meter innovative workspace located within Muscat Airport, designed as a dynamic environment for the airport’s IT team to foster creativity and innovation. This open-space office is thoughtfully designed to include various zones for brainstorming, collaboration, relaxation, and focused work, all while capturing an aviation-inspired aesthetic.
In the brainstorming area, a large touch-screen LCD and circular seating arrangements encourage team discussions in a friendly and engaging setup. The main workstation is a 16-person aerodynamic conference-style table that allows everyone to maintain eye contact and share ideas easily. Additionally, there’s a gaming corner with lazy chairs and a window-side seating area where team members can enjoy a coffee break while looking out over the airport.
The office also includes a zen zone with low Japanese-style tables for focused, meditative work, as well as a fully equipped electrical lab for hands-on technical tasks. A small cinema area with tiered concrete seating allows the team to hold presentations or simply relax and enjoy media together. There’s even a flexible library space filled with lightweight poufs that can be moved around as needed, and a conference room decorated with IT-themed graphics and circuit patterns.
Throughout the space, greenery is incorporated into the ceiling and walls, and large LCD screens display IT projects and updates. The exposed black ceiling and suspended “Runway” logo add an industrial yet modern touch, creating a unique and inspiring office atmosphere.

Concept for The Runway Office: An Aviation-Inspired Creative Playground for IT Innovation
The concept behind The Runway Office is to create a vibrant, aviation-inspired hub that encourages the IT team to think outside the box. By combining elements of an airport’s energy with modern design, the space becomes a playground for creativity. Zones like the brainstorming area, zen space, and gaming corner are designed to provide a mix of collaborative and individual work settings, all infused with a sense of fun and innovation.
The use of greenery, natural light, and IT-themed decor ensures a refreshing and inspiring environment. Every detail, from the suspended X and O shapes above the gaming area to the black exposed ceiling and large display screens, is crafted to support both productivity and relaxation.
